The Primary children meet the composer. Duane Hiatt was asked to compose a song for primary children about prophets, with Jewish music, and upbeat two weeks after his wife died(mother of 15 children, 11 of whom were still at home and the youngest was two). As he struggled to do this, he remembered the story of a pioneer brother by the name of Stillman Pond who left a prosperous business in England to come to Zion. By the time he arrived, his wife and nine of his eleven children had died. He demonstrated his faith by saying he had and would continue to follow the prophet. That line gave Brother Hiatt his theme. He made it Jewish just by going to a minor key and he managed to make it upbeat by remembering Stillman Pond. If he could follow the prophet in the hour of his distress and sadness, so could Brother Hiatt.
