- Aerial Photo of Temple Grounds — by Don Fallick — last modified Aug 21, 2006 04:17 PM
- This satellite photo shows the Santo Domingo Temple in the center. One of the buildings nearby is the Dominican Republic MTC. We're told there's also a large museum across the street. The temple is on higher ground than the surrounding area and the ocean is visible from the temple.

- General Strike here — by Don Fallick — last modified Nov 16, 2006 11:37 AM
- We're OK. If any of you have been checking the news from Dominican Repulic, you may have heard about the "Huelga General" (general strike) called for today and tomorrow to protest government economic policies and other issues. In the DR, these sometimes turn violent, and the cops have been known to shoot innoocent bystanders, so we're staying in. We haven't seen ANY indications of a strike yet today. Everything seems very much business as usual in our neighborhood. Even the construction workers building our new parking lot showed up for work this morning as usual. The only thing different that I know about is that Sister Petersen, the Temple Matron, was planning to go shopping for Thanksgiving turkeys this afternoon, but President Petersen, who knew of the strike, forgot to warn her, so now she has to wait until Saturday or Monday. Attached is a scanned image of President Petersen's memo about the strike.

- The Utah War — by Don Fallick — last modified May 13, 2007 02:19 PM
- Due to the hoopla and misinformation in the PBS special, here is my original article on The Utah War, researched in the files of the Church History Department. It was written for Backwoods Home Magazine, but never published by them. I have added a section on blacks and the priesthood. Published with permission. Photos courtesy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Opinions expressed in the article are my own.
